Poppy Field in West Yorkshire near Ackworth

In early summer, the countryside in the UK normally turns red with beautiful blossoming poppies. The best time to see flowering poppies in this country is between late June and early July.

A public footpath to approach to the field

I visited a wild poppy and chrysanthemum field in late June 2019. The field is near Ackworth of Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

Location: Westwinds, Ackworth, Wakefield near WF7 7RP

If you travel by car, you can park somewhere in WF7 7RP and then take a walk to the field. You will see a public footpath leading to the field from a busy main road.

You may also see British people wear a red poppy on Remembrance Day (11/11) every year to remember those who had been lost in the war.
